Is it possible that I am 55 today? I thought that it would be appropriate, for someone who is ALWAYS on the other side of the lens, to share a slice of my life with all of you. As I put this show together, memories flooded in like a tsunami.
How many hair colors and hairdos have I had in my life for cripe’s sakes? How many faces can I make? ! My red wig in high school was a favorite. I then sported red hair for about 25 years only changing it when I married Rod not so long ago.
I was amazed at my long fingernails in one pic. I just can’t bother with it anymore. For you memorabilia fans, I share images of my husbands (remind you of hairdos?), my parents, my siblings, my friends, and how I pretty much have been on the crazy side most of my life.
I was terribly torn about posting photo 26 but it was important, because it was the beginning of a lifelong passion… not for beauty pageants but for photography! One of my winnings was my camera that’s hanging from my wrist on a wrist strap!!! Ha!!
Hairdos have come and gone. So have people. I am blessed with a wonderful family and friends. I have work that I love. These are the greatest treasures in my life. The quotes below sum up the moment. Enjoy!
“The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening. It is a little star dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.” Henry David Thoreau
“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” Danny Kaye
“The philosophy of mine earth can be summed up as this: Sunshine creates happiness, and I create myself. Nights are long and life is predominantly good. Wind is refreshing. Tea is wisdom. Do the best you can, and be good to yourself so that you can above all be good to others.” Jessi Lane Adams
