You’re the first to know that I have joined with Budding Art Ideas to create a unique photography class. I’m really excited to be teaching a four-day workshop September 27-30 on transitioning into digital photography. This class is for the photographer (serious hobbiest or professional) who is wanting to move from film to digital or is trying to make the transition and like I say “has fallen and can’t get up.” It’s a tough transition!!! There are so many questions and just too many answers.
Teaching From a Fun Perspective
I will be teaching the class entirely from a right-brained, untechnical, fun perspective that will be mostly hands-on. We will spend time inside and out at the beautiful Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor (one of my favorite hangouts) and then the remainder of the time will be creating magic in the classrooms on our computers.
If you need help with Photoshop, or your camera, or both, this is the class for you. Photoshop can be a very big, very scary program. We will provide you with a general working knowledge to work on your photographs from start to finish.
Hardware and Software
We will talk about the hardware and software needs of a photographer as well as camera equipment. We will also spend time discussing the myriad of methods to archive, store, and back up your work for safekeeping.
Tools of the Trade
A laptop, a version of Photoshop CS or newer, and a single lens reflex camera (film or digital) are essential to attending this class. Please pass this along to everyone you know who may be interested. It is not posted on their blog yet, but will be very soon. I do not know the actual price of the class yet but it should be similar to the other class fees.
