I’ve been photographing these sisters for a few years now.  So cute.  Crazy energy fills the room!!  We had great fun.  Here are my favorites. Enjoy.

Even when I’m not commissioned to create an original piece of art from an image, I am sometimes inspired to do so.

I will make an image and I can’t get it out of my mind.  And I know it’s a piece that speaks to me to create something unique.  Sometimes, an image and the ‘tapestry’ don’t come together when I want them to.

So I wait.  It’s a process.  When the sky stays gray too long, or I get in a funk, or I just need to create something because it’s crying to get out, I sit down with a white background and an image and see what develops.  Here is what came to me for the sisters…

For those of you who have sisters, you can relate to this possibly.  I am intrigued by siblings who come from the same parents yet are nothing alike; they don’t look alike in any way, have very few common interests, or even act alike.

I enjoyed sharing a bit of time during a family portrait photography session with these sisters and exploring their differences. Yet through it all, I could see and feel the connection.  We did the session to Lady Gaga and I hear I got points for owning this music (love her).

Their mom cried when she first saw these images.  It made me cry.  I hope when they are grown and have children who are grown and look back on this day that these images, and their familial bond that forever connects them, reminds them of the treasure they have in each other.
