Jill Love

The passion and love I feel for what I do is evident in all of my work, whether it’s a wedding, a newborn, or a landscape.  My specialty isn’t a category, it’s about the ability to connect  with the miracle of a moment in time and capturing it so it becomes yours forever.

My work is unique in that it has an artistic, intimate quality to it.  Although I am a photographer, I am an artist first and foremost; my camera is one of my tools.  I have great passion for creating work that reveals the vitality and beauty of my subjects and their relationship with each other and their surroundings.  I believe my work is a reminder of the constant beauty that not only surrounds us but is within us.  As a great poet once said, ‘our beauty is not in our face, it is a light that shines in our heart.’

Visit my website and see the ‘kind words’ section to hear what my clients have said about my work and working with me at www.jlovephotography.com.  I believe one of my strongest assets is making my subjects feel comfortable enough to open up and not only see how beautiful they are, but ‘feel’ beautiful. This is what I seek to express through my camera.

Very few people like to be photographed.  It is an extremely vulnerable position to be in.  I provide a safe space in which to relax, have fun, and really shine.  And yes, we DO have fun! I smile when I think of the number of times people come in here thinking it’s going to be terrible and when our session is over they truly aren’t ready to be done! It’s the ultimate compliment.

I was named Detroit Professional Photographer of the Year in 2009, and have received the highest scoring print in their annual print competition two years running.  I have several gallery exhibitions and also have appeared in such places as the Michigan State Capitol.

I was bestowed with the distinguished honor of having a print accepted into the 2009 Best of the Best, prestigious international ’Loan Collection’ with Professional Photographers of America.

I work on location as much as possible whether it’s a family’s home or a destination wedding. I also have a studio in our countryside home where I live with my husband, Rod, and our cat Jada. We live among the wildlife here enjoying the wonderful backdrops nature provides.
