I just got back from spending the day with the owner and founder of Jewel Kade  and about 200 of her closest friends!!! LOL. I got to see the new fall lineup of  jewelry that includes charms, bracelets, and necklaces. I met and made many new friends, and saw the new catalog for Jewel Kade’s product line. I love these people! They are artists whose handcrafted, made-in-America jewelry is the best photo charm jewelry I’ve seen out there bar none! The owner, Janet Kincade’s personal story is inspirational and heartfelt.

J. Love Photography is now offering Jewel Kade’s custom photo charms with your favorite photos as well as the entire Jewel Kade product line! This is a great gift idea for seniors, brides, and any occasion you can think of! Is there anything more treasured than a photos of our loved ones? Now we can wear them.  As so many of you know, my ‘little grammies’ are framed on my desk. I am fortunate enough to have a photo of my two grandmothers and two great-grandmothers together. I’ve always felt they have given me guidance as the angels that they are. So I made them into a photo charm with a lovely portrait of my mother on the other side. LOVE IT!

I’ve also put some of my nature fine art in a large locket that catches everyone’s attention!  So I believe I will probably do a series of these one-of-a kind charms for holiday gifts this year!  If you are interested in this, please let me know and I’ll add you to my mailing list. I think I’m going to try some ‘fun’ things like artfully done, colorful backgrounds with initials as well!  So stay posted!

Being a girlie, girl and a portrait photographer blend well together!  And y’all who know me know how much I LOVE jewelry from my toe rings to my earrings! :) Jewel Kade  has something for everyone. Check it out! And if you are interested in selling Jewel Kade or even getting your girlfriends together and having a fun night of playing with jewelry, just give me a call at 734-426-0900.

As a female photographer whose clientele is mostly female, it stands to reason any jewelry that features photographs would intrigue me (a self-confessed jewelryaholic)!

So recently I added Jewel Kade to J. Love Photography’s mix. Women have loved it. And I haven’t gone a day without wearing it myself. I’ve now received my first photo charms and they are beautiful. My clients have been excited too.

My first charm was one I talked about in a previous post. I also posted the images I used in my first charm of my mother and my grandmothers. Although I have the image of my grammies on my desk, I now get to take them with me! Love it.

One evening while our daughter and I were playing with the Jewel Kade jewels, our granddaughter, Zoey, couldn’t resist either. So her mom dolled her up (notice her wrist charm has a “Z” on it) and off she went sporting her jewels. She LOVED it!

So clearly not only will our granddaughter be the most photographed baby we know, but she will also be one of the youngest ladies to sport Jewel Kade! LOL.

Be sure to check it out and call me if you’re interested. This jewelry makes wonderful gifts for seniors, showers, etc. If you don’t know what your graduate would like, we have gift certificates too!

After the launch of my new jewelry line at J. Love Photography, I sent in the photographs for my first photo charm to be made for me!  After all, I need to have one and wear it (of course).

One of my very favorite portraits sits on my desk.  It is a portrait made the day my father graduated from medical school.  It is of my mother, my grandmothers, and my great-grandmothers.  It’s a priceless treasure to me and a rare image for anyone to have, for sure.  How often do these women not only live at the same time but gather at the same time and have a portrait made of them?

On the other side of the photo charm, I chose to put a portrait of my mother that she gave me years ago to restore for her.  It was taken when she was about 19 I think.  It, too, has become a priceless treasure to me.  As I stare at her, I see myself.  I realize that yes, we do become our mothers.  And for me, that is a blessing! :)

So I share these images with you, in honor of  Mother’s Day, so you see a bit of my heritage.  This may provide a glimpse into the future of your portraits and what they will mean for generations to come.

Mother’s Day is upon us.  This charm is a personal celebration of the women who gave me roots… and then eventually gave me wings.  If you are interested in creating your own personal Jewel Kade photo charm, please let me know and we can work on something wonderful together.

I have always said a little prayer to my grandmothers as I gaze on their photo.  Today is no exception.  To Helen Love, Pearl Bowen, Zoe Beach, and Naomi Love. I can still remember each of you.  And although you have been gone for a long time, you are always with me in spirit.  And to my mom, Phyllis Joy Beach Love, who I am spending the weekend with… thank you all for continuing to light my way.  I am blessed.
